Pursuant to the resolution unanimously approved on March 29, 2021 by the Board of Directors of the Produce Marketing Association, PMA now seeks the consent of PMA Members for the Association to join the United Fresh Produce Association in a new combined association serving the global produce and floral industry.
For that purpose, a Membership Meeting is being called for 11:00 am EDT on Tuesday, May 11. The meeting will be open to current company members of PMA, and each member company will be entitled to one vote by its authorized representative. Members will be asked to submit a proxy vote by email indicating whether they consent to the resolution.
Membership in the new association will be offered to all current PMA Members at the close of 2021, upon payment of 2022 dues to be determined prior to January 1, 2022. Other details regarding the blending of the expertise, programs, and resources of the two associations to enhance member services, strengthen advocacy before government and the public, and help members grow their business in the global marketplace will be made public in the coming months.
